PART 3 of THEY SAY / I SAY

We have a pretty big reading assignment today which we will discuss in the discussions area.

ASSIGNMENT:

Today you will read all of the Introduction and Part 3 of THEY SAY / I SAY.  These are pages 105 through 140.

After you have read pages 105 through 140, please respond to Exercise 1 on page 119.  This exercise is tries to get you to think about transitions.  I want to offer a few different options for this exercise.

Option 1 is to do the exercise exactly as listed, except for underlining the transitional phrases you will have to copy them into your discussions post.

Option 2 gives you a chance to REWRITE any one of your Epinions Reviews.  You'll need to paste in the FIRST VERSION, which likely uses PARAGRAPH HEADERS and ZERO TRANSITIONS.  In the SECOND VERSION I want you to ADD TRANSITIONS to this Epinions review.  You'll get rid of the PARAGRAPH HEADINGS and instead, you will practice with placing a phrase the LOOKS FORWARD at the end of some of your paragraphs, and a phrases that LOOKS BACKWARDS at the beginnings.  That will start to make sense after you read PART 2 of our textbook.

Well placed TRANSITIONS in your writing can be the difference between a B grade and an A grade.  Pay very close attention to this section.

In the Section 3 discussion named THEY SAY / I SAY PART 3, please paste in your response to Exercise 1 on page 119.

When you have done all of the above, please...
